Activities

You can find a lot to do and a lot not to do on the Century.

If you like to stay busy, activities during the days at sea could include enrichment lectures, often taught by experts on topics such as personal investing and handwriting analysis. There are also the tried-and-true wine tastings, horse racing, bingo, art auctions, trivia games, arts and crafts, spa and salon demos, and line-dancing lessons. During the afternoons in the main pool area, you could watch a live band and play silly games like the Mr. Celebrity Contest.

The ship also has many quiet nooks where you can just curl up with a book.

Childrens Program

Celebrity has evolved into a cruise line that pampers kids as well as adults. The Century has the Ship Mates Fun Factory playroom, supervised activities practically all day long, and private and group baby-sitting.

Entertainment

Celebrity offers a good selection of varied, innovative performances. A strolling a cappella group performs in lounges and public areas of the ship in the afternoons and before and after dinner. The four-man troupe delights passengers with well-known songs of past and present.

The Century Theater has one of the best-equipped, high-tech stages at sea. With excellent acoustics and sight lines, the theater boasts hydraulic orchestra pits, easily maneuverable sets, trap doors, turntables, a video wall, and lasers. The showroom features magicians, comedians, cabaret acts, passenger talent shows, and Broadway-style musicals, led by a soloist or two and a team of dancers in full Vegas-esque regalia. Another theater on the ship offers karaoke and first-run movies.

For guests who want to party into the morning hours, the ship has late-night disco dancing (until about 3am), and the spacious casino, Fortunes, is bustling enough to put gamblers in the mood.

When you want to retreat for a romantic nightcap, you can enjoy cozy lounges and piano bars. In these more intimate settings, the choice of music is often laid-back jazz or music from the big band era. There’s also the elegant and plush Michael’s Club for a cigar and cordial and some quiet conversation.

An interactive system wired to each cabin TV allows guests to order room service from on-screen menus, select the evenings wine in advance of dinner, play casino-style games, check stocks, or browse in virtual shops for a wide selection of merchandise for delivery directly to your home at the end of your cruise.

Service

Service is polite, attentive, cheerful, and especially professional. Waiters have a poised, upscale hotel manner, which contributes to the elegant mood. Very professional sommeliers assist diners with their beverage choices, and waiters are on hand in the Lido breakfast and lunch buffet restaurants to carry passengers’ trays from the buffet line to the table of their choice.

Our Thoughts

Kurt and I are very excited to be going on this cruise. At this point, we're not sure what we're looking forward to more: the great food, the AquaSpa or just relaxing poolside. The Century looks to be an amazing ship and we can't wait to experience it all.
